Are you interested in how engines, machines and large structures are designed and built? Engineering courses at TAFE offer a path to a rewarding career as a fitter, machinist, boilermaker, sheet metal worker or air conditioning mechanic. At Central Regional TAFE you will have access to modern facilities and workshops where you will learn the practical skills to enter the workforce with confidence.

Engineering Courses

Metal fabricators (boilermakers) and welders build, maintain and repair metal products and structures. If you take a Fabrication Engineering course at TAFE, you will learn the skills and knowledge required to manufacture, assemble and maintain a wide range of equipment and machinery including: mining structures; heavy transport and earth moving equipment; building structures; oil-rigs; agricultural equipment; and storage vessels.

Want to start a career in one of Western Australia’s biggest industries? Gain a nationally recognised qualification through one of the mining courses at TAFE, and open the door to a career working as an operator or manager on mining sites in a range of specialised fields. 

At Central Regional TAFE, our campus locations mean mining is one of our key training areas and we deliver first-class industry-relevant training for a range of different mining and engineering specialisations. We are also one of the only training providers to deliver an Advanced Diploma of Metalliferous Mining.

Mining Courses

Courses in Resource Processing will help you gain the practical skills and knowledge needed for planning and managing plant shutdowns and systems to prevent incidents and emergencies. You will learn about safety case management, incident response plans, plant documentation and environmental impacts.
