Entering the workforce can be tough, especially in a new industry where you have little to no experience.
In general, employers prefer taking on apprentices who have done pre-apprenticeship training. This often involves work experience or industry placement, providing students with practical experience in the industry relevant to their course.
Some of our programs require students to complete work experience placements before they can graduate, which results in well-rounded graduates that are trained in the skills required of the position they choose to take, but are also great communicators with excellent work ethic.
Why do a pre-apprenticeship?
A Pre-apprenticeship enables you to experience what it’s like to work in a trade before you make a commitment to continuing in that employment field or gaining an apprenticeship. Also, if you go on to an apprenticeship, the off-the-job training component of your apprenticeship training may be reduced
Students that gain their pre-apprenticeship and then apprenticeship or traineeship have more opportunities in the workforce. This practical way of combining theory and practical experience means each student comes into the workforce job-ready with the skills they need.
