MEM30219 Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (Fitting)
Are you looking for a career making and fixing all things mechanical?
When you complete the Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Fitter ZA) you will be looking at a trades career as a Mechanical Fitter, Hydraulic Fitter, Mobile Service Technician or a Marine Fitter in industries such as Mining, Defence, Oil & Gas and Manufacturing.
This course is half price for everyone (excl. school students) as part of the Lower Fees, Local Skills initiative. Fees are also capped at $1,200; or $400 if you're aged 15—24 or eligible for a concession. Find out more here.

- Work with pneumatic systems
- Work with mechanical drives and transmissions
- Use workshop machines
- Use hand and power tools
- Arc welding
- Thermal cutting
- Measuring using instruments
- Technical drawing
- Workplace health and safety
- Fitting of bearings, drive trains and couplings
- Levelling and alignment of equipment.

- Enjoy working equally indoor and outdoor
- Have technical and mechanical aptitude
- Have sound command of spoken and written English and math skills
- Have well-developed communication skills
- Be able to work independently as well as within a team
- Possess a good fitness level to carry out practical and/or manual work
- Be able to cope with nature’s environment (e.g., flies, insects)
- Be able to cope outdoors with varied weather conditions (e.g., heat, cold, wind)
- Have good hand-eye coordination.
- Be prepared to get dirty and/or greasy!
- Be able to follow instructions and Work Health and Safety procedures
