This nationally recognised and accredited qualification is designed for people who are interested in getting into the fabrication industry. It will give you entry level job ready skills, which are highly valued by employers.
This course is half price for everyone (excl. school students) as part of the Lower Fees, Local Skills initiative. Fees are also capped at $1,200; or $400 if you're aged 15—24 or eligible for a concession. Find out more here.

This nationally recognised and accredited qualification is designed for people who are interested in getting into the fabrication industry. It will give you entry level job ready skills, which are highly valued by employers.
You'll learn how to work safely, build your communication and teamwork skills, learn how to do engineering measurements and calculations, use a variety of hand tools and power tools, and gain hands on workshop experience using different equipment.
You will also learn about different specialties within the fabrication industry, to help decide which direction you would like to take your career in.
Completion of this course can provide credit towards a relevant higher level qualification, should you wish to pursue further study. It's also an excellent pathway to an apprenticeship or traineeship in this industry.

- Enjoy working equally indoor or outdoor
- Be able to work in a heated environment
- Have sound command of spoken and written English and math skills
- Have basic skills in computer technology
- Be able to work independently as well as within a team
- Possess a good fitness level to carry out practical and/or manual work
- Have good hand-eye coordination.
- Be able to follow instructions and Work Health and Safety procedures
- Be able to attend mandatory work placement outside of scheduled classes
