This skill set covers essential grooming techniques that make pets look and feel their best, while prioritizing their safety and comfort.
Some of the skills you will learn include:
- Animal Handling: Proficiency in safely and compassionately handling animals, keeping them calm and cooperative throughout the grooming process.
- Bathing and Drying: Skilled in thorough washing techniques and safe drying methods, with knowledge of products suitable for various skin and coat types.
- Cutting and Trimming: Expertise in using clippers, scissors, and other tools to trim fur, shape coats, and ensure breed-standard or customized cuts.
- Nail Clipping and Ear Cleaning: Competency in safely trimming nails, cleaning ears, and managing minor hygiene tasks with attention to pet health.
- Health Assessment: Ability to notice signs of health issues, such as skin irritations or parasites, and communicate concerns to pet owners.
- Attention to Detail and Patience: A high level of attention to detail, patience, and adaptability to address each animal’s unique needs and behavior.
