At Central Regional TAFE, education support programs are nationally recognised and are aimed at those who are interested in providing assistance and support to teachers and students in various educational settings. You’ll learn how to assist in delivering education programs, and have many opportunities to gain essential skills in managing behaviour and enhance the social, emotional, psychological, cognitive, and language development of young children.
TAFE education support courses require you to undertake supervised work placement, which gives you the opportunity to apply the skills and knowledge that you have acquired in a real-world setting. You’ll learn how to work within programs to improve literacy and numeracy in classrooms, work following legal and ethical requirements, implement planned education programs for students with additional needs, and work effectively with culturally diverse students, and staff.
Graduates of our courses have gone on to find positions such as:
- Education Assistant,
- Teacher Assistant,
- Education Assistant (Special Needs),
- Aboriginal/Islander Education Officer or
- Homeland Teaching Assistant.
The education services industry is growing, and there are plenty of opportunities for individuals who are passionate about providing support to students of all ages, of all backgrounds. Providing children with the right support and understanding as they develop not only encourages better outcomes for the future but is also a meaningful career. It’s one that starts here, at CR TAFE.
