Study Mode Workplace
Duration 6 Months
The resource and mining industry is booming in all areas. This qualification will prepare you for roles such as a production operator, working in metalliferous processing facilities or coal preparation and treatment plants, or performing tasks involving a broad range of skilled applications in a varied work context, using some discretion and judgement in selecting equipment, services or contingency measures along the way.
This program is offered by Central Regional TAFE in response to industry consultation, addressing the need for formal recognition of learning and experience for eligible employees in the workplace.
All learners will be employed within the Resource Processing sector and will receive training delivered by Central Regional TAFE lecturers, supported by workplace supervisors. Learners will have access to all required workplace facilities and equipment to learn and practise their job roles, as well as access to the company’s policies and procedures database.
Delivery is scheduled to align with participant availability and rosters, and to minimise disruption to workplace operations. As a result, dates, cohorts, unit selection, and schedules will vary, as Central Regional TAFE responds to each client’s individual needs.
Units are selected by the corporate client based on specific workplace requirements and industry demands. Central Regional TAFE trainers and assessors will conduct assessments of informal learning and on-the-job training.
Year-long availability is therefore required to meet industry demand and CRTAFE expectations within Workplace Assessment (WPA) training. Workplace Assessment (WPA)
