Kickstart your construction career with essential safety skills and hands-on experience in just three weeks!

This skill set will provide individuals with the skills and knowledge to become job ready for entry level roles in the construction field, such as trades assistant (TA) or general labourer, and it covers how to follow mandatory work health and safety requirements in accordance with safety legislative requirements.

This skill set is aimed at students looking for a pathway into a bricklaying apprenticeship, on-site employment, or further training in the building and construction industry. 

This qualification includes a work experience component which learners must complete as part of their training and assessment. Students are required to complete 25 hours in the workplace.

This program is delivered face-to-face (local classroom) on campus over a three-week period in Term 3, from Monday 8 September to Friday 26 September. Classes run five days a week, from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM.

  • CPCCCM2005 Use construction tools and equipment
  • CPCCCM2006 Apply basic levelling procedures
  • CPCCOM1012 Work effectively and sustainably in the construction industry
  • CPCCVE1011 Undertake a basic construction project
  • CPCCWHS2001 Apply WHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry
  • CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry
  • WP097 Pre-apprenticeship work placement coordination 2 (commenced)
