RTO Requirements

• WorkSafe requires the participants to be a minimum of 18 years on the date of assessment to obtain a High-Risk Licence.
• It is expected that students will have basic English reading and writing skills to be able to read and understand the course materials including the National Assessment Instrument which must be completed in writing. Interpreters are not allowed in this course as per NAI (National Assessment Instrument) Assessment Guidelines for Persons Performing High Risk Work. 
• It is expected that students will have basic maths skills which are essential to be able to complete the training and assessment as Calculations is a large component of the theory assessment that involves maths. 
• Students who may require additional support are encouraged to discuss this with the lecturer prior to commencing the course and/or during the course. The lecturer will discuss and put in place relevant support for learners. 
• Students need to be able to get on and off the forklift using three points of contact, without assistance.
• Students are required to wear appropriate PPE which the student will need to supply including:
  • enclosed footwear (steel capped boots preferable)
  • long pants and long-sleeved shirt

Upon successful completion of this unit, students can apply for a High-Risk Licence from WorkSafe WA of the classification LF.

• This unit is based on the licensing requirements of Part 4.5 of the Model Work Health and Safety (WHS) Regulations and meets Commonwealth, State and Territory HRWL requirements.
