In this course, you will learn basic glassworking techniques to create glass objects from simple design concepts. You will have the opportunity to develop your own ideas to learn the technical skills to create your creative pieces. You will learn technical skills including moulding and casting.

Learn the art of mixing/blending materials, develop knowledge of glass properties, firing schedules, mould making, and cold working. You will gain skills in a range of kiln-forming techniques and processes that many contemporary glass artists utilize as the basis of their work practice.

To attain this skill set, you are required to successfully complete all five (5) units of competence listed below. Students enrol in one (1) unit per term.

- Secondary school aged persons (in 2024, students born on or after 1 July 2006 who are at least 15 years old in 2024) undertaking training that is not part of a VET Delivered to Secondary Schools program, the maximum course (tuition) fee chargeable is $420. Additional resource fees and discretionary fees may apply.
