The Course in Initial English as Another Language (EAL) will help you to gain basic skills in English language and numeracy, and build your confidence.
The focus of the course is recognising letters of the alphabet and their sounds, recognising and copying familiar words, participating in simple conversations, using digital media, and counting from one to one hundred.
Training is conducted in small groups, with friendly and supportive leaders who will assist you every step of the way.

- Secondary school aged persons (in 2025, students born on or after 1 July 2007 who are at least 15 years old in 2025) undertaking training that is not part of a VET Delivered to Secondary Schools program, the maximum course (tuition) fee chargeable is $420. Additional resource fees and discretionary fees may apply.
- VET Student Loans for eligible courses and fee caps may be subject to changes implemented by the Australian Government.
