This course is fee free* for residents of Western Australia.

The Certificate I in New Opportunities for Women (NOW) is a general education program intended to provide participants with the knowledge, skill and support to make a transition into further vocational education and training and/or the workforce. This course is a bridging course for women looking to re-enter the workforce or change their career direction. The course offers women the opportunity to explore various career options, build confidence, and gain academic standards for further education and training.
It is designed to assist learners who have been marginalised or disadvantaged to develop the skills and abilities to direct their own development into further study or employment.
Educational outcomes for learners who complete the Certificate I in New Opportunities for Women (NOW) include the development of:
- personal development strategies
- verbal and written communication skills
- computing and digital technology skills
- problem solving skills
- community-based project participation
- financial literacy skills
- basic maths skills
- personal health and safety knowledge
- confidence to seek educational opportunities
This qualification has been replaced and is currently in a teach-out period. Students will be informed by their lecturer whether they will be required to transition to the current qualification. In this case, there may be some non‑equivalences where students may need to complete additional units or gap training.
