This 4-week Skill Set is designed for experienced ACMA open registered cablers seeking specialist training. Participants will include a diverse mix of ages, genders, and backgrounds, all with the LLN skills needed for advanced cabling.
This course will cover:
- ICTCBL301 Install, terminate and certify structured cabling installation
- ICTCBL303 Install and terminate coaxial cable
- ICTCBL322 Install, test and terminate optical fibre cable on customer premises
- ICTCBL323 Test cables and systems on customer premises (this unit has prerequisite units: ICTWHS204, ICTTEN208, ICTCBL247 which must be completed prior to this unit)
Students will either undergo RPL assessment or obtain credit transfer for the following units
- ICTCBL247 Install, maintain and modify customer premises communications cabling: ACMA Open Rule
- ICTWHS204 Follow work health and safety and environmental policy and procedures
- ICTTEN208 Use electrical skills when working with telecommunications networks
The amount of training for this qualification is spread over 8 days. More specifically this includes:
- 24 hours of face-to-face classroom delivery
- 40 hours of supervised workshop activities
- 24 hours of prescribed out of class learning activities

- Secondary school aged persons (in 2025, students born on or after 1 July 2007 who are at least 15 years old in 2025) undertaking training that is not part of a VET Delivered to Secondary Schools program, the maximum course (tuition) fee chargeable is $420. Additional resource fees and discretionary fees may apply.
