Central Regional TAFE Students announced as finalists in the prestigious 2025 WA Training Awards

This year's WA Training Awards recognise 32 individual finalists - including 21 regional students, trainees, apprentices and lecturers - across eight award categories. The finalists were announced by Skills and TAFE Minister Amber-Jade Sanderson and recognise excellence in the State's vocational training sector.

Central Regional TAFE students dominated the list of finalists, with nine of the 21 regional finalists completing their training at our campuses located across the Midwest, Gascoyne, Wheatbelt and Goldfields.

The strong representation of Central Regional TAFE students in the WA Training Awards finals is testament to the valuable role of TAFE in making access to outstanding vocational training opportunities a reality for regional Western Australians.

Managing Director Jo Payne is thrilled for the students, “Central Regional TAFE is part of the communities we live and work in, helping people achieve their aspirations and ensuring industry has access to the skilled workers they need to thrive. We believe that living in regional WA doesn’t diminish the range or quality of training you receive or limit the heights that you can reach in your career, and every day our amazing students show us that this is the case.”

“Central Regional TAFE is proud to offer industry-standard facilities with training delivered by industry qualified lecturers who give our students the opportunity to launch the career of their dreams,” said Ms Payne. “I’m also really proud that one of our outstanding lecturers, Lisette Monsello who delivers training in Hospitality at our Kalgoorlie campus, has been named a finalist in WA Trainer of the Year. Everyone at the College wishes all our finalists well.”

Winners will be announced in September this year, with individual recipients receiving a $3,000 cash prize.

Eligible category winners go on to represent WA as finalists for the annual national Australian Training Awards.
