Central Regional TAFE was established in 2016 through the amalgamation of three respected regional training organisations: Durack Institute of Technology, Goldfields Institute of Technology and the C.Y. O’Connor Institute.
Together, these organisations brought decades of experience delivering vocational education and training across regional Western Australia.
Their combined legacy continues to shape who we are today:
- Durack Institute of Technology supported training across the Midwest and Gascoyne, with strengths in areas including maritime, trades and regional workforce development.
- Goldfields Institute of Technology built strong connections with the mining, engineering and heavy industry sectors throughout the Goldfields.
- C.Y. O’Connor Institute had a long-standing connection to agriculture, trades and rural communities across the Wheatbelt.
Today, Central Regional TAFE continues that shared commitment by working with industry, employers and communities to deliver practical, job-focused training that supports local opportunities and future careers.
Governing Council
Central Regional TAFE’s Governing Council provides strategic leadership and oversight for the College. Members bring experience from industry, business and the community to help guide the future direction of Central Regional TAFE and support strong governance.
The Governing Council is the highest level of decision-making at Central Regional TAFE. Council members work with the Corporate Executive and supporting committees to make decisions in the best interests of students, industry and the communities we serve.
