If you're interested in a VETDSS or PATiS program, your first step is to speak with your school's VET Coordinator.

Students interested in the Career Taster Program should speak with their school about available opportunities and activities.

Central Regional TAFE is an adult learning environment where students are expected to take responsibility for their learning, manage workloads and seek assistance when required. Students may participate in lectures, workshops, practical training, online learning, projects, workplace learning and group activities depending on their course.

Students are responsible for attending classes and notifying their lecturer if they are unable to attend. Attendance information may be shared with participating schools and ongoing absences may impact continued participation in a program.

The health, safety and wellbeing of students is important to us.

Central Regional TAFE has safety procedures, emergency response plans, first aid support and workplace safety requirements in place across all campuses and training locations. We are committed to maintaining learning environments that are safe, respectful and free from bullying and harassment.

If a student or parent/carer has a concern, compliment, suggestion or complaint, we encourage them to contact us so that we can review the matter fairly and work towards a resolution.

We value feedback as an important part of improving our training, services and student experience. All feedback and complaints are handled confidentially and in accordance with Central Regional TAFE's policies and procedures.

Feedback and Complaints

Some programs may include excursions, workplace learning or activities at external venues.

Where required, parents or guardians will receive information before the activity and may be asked to provide written consent. Students may also be responsible for arranging transport to external locations where applicable.

Students are generally responsible for their own personal accident and property insurance while attending TAFE.

Different arrangements may apply for approved work placements, camps, excursions and other College-organised activities.

Our Student Services teams can assist with a range of support needs and help connect students with the right services throughout their studies.

Students requiring support or adjustments can contact our team to discuss accessibility requirements and available support options.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students can access support and guidance from our Aboriginal Services team throughout their studies.

VET Delivered to Secondary Students (VETDSS) allows school students to complete nationally recognised vocational education and training qualifications while working towards their WACE.

VETDSS programs are generally available to Year 11 and 12 students attending participating schools. Speak with your school's VET Coordinator for information about eligibility and available courses.

Attendance varies by course, however students generally attend TAFE one or two days each week and attend school for the remainder of the week.

Successful completion can provide a pathway to employment, apprenticeships, traineeships, further vocational training or additional qualifications.
