This course is fee free* for residents of Western Australia.

The Community Support Skill Set is designed to equip participants with foundational skills in community services, supporting personal development and improving employability within the Aged Care and Community Services industry. It also provides relevant skills and knowledge for community members involved in the pilot DTWD and Department of Communities initiative under the State Seniors Strategy In-Home Care.
This Skill Set reflects the skills and knowledge required to support older people and individuals with a disability who wish to remain living independently in their homes. It aligns with the State Seniors Strategy and contributes to strengthening the aged care and community support workforce, while creating accessible pathways for those considering a career in the care sector.
Participants will gain the skills and knowledge needed to undertake job tasks within the aged and disability care sector, in both residential and in-home care settings. This includes preparation for roles such as Patient Care Assistant (PCA) or Student Assistant in Nursing (AIN), as well as opportunities with NDIS providers in the community.
Suitable for both new and existing workers, this Skill Set provides the knowledge and practical skills required to deliver care and wellbeing support to individuals in home and community settings.
