This qualification reflects the role of hairdressers who use a range of well-developed sales, consultation and technical skills and knowledge to provide a broad range of hairdressing services to clients. They use discretion and judgement to provide client services and take responsibility for the outcomes of their own work.
This qualification provides a pathway to work as a hairdresser in any industry environment, usually a hairdressing salon.
Learners will graduate with a nationally recognised Certificate III in Hairdressing, which qualifies them as professional hairdressers eligible to work in salons across Australia. The program equips students with the practical skills and theoretical knowledge required to provide a full range of hairdressing services, including cutting, colouring, styling, and client consultation. The qualification supports pathways to employment, business ownership, or further training in specialised areas of hair and beauty. It also meets employer expectations and industry standards, making it a key entry-level qualification in the personal services sector.

- Be in good health with no significant skin allergies
- Good hand-eye coordination

- Be an active listener with a good attitude and patience
- Have basic digital and phone skills to manage the booking systems required in a salon
- Sufficient physical ability to stand and/or bend for extended periods of time
Apprentice:
- Indentured into an apprenticeship to study through block format
