Whether you are applying for a firearm authority or seeking to become an Authorised Person without holding your own firearm authority, this training will ensure you are well-versed in firearm safety principles, legal requirements, and best practices. The course covers:
- Firearms legislation and licensing requirements
- Safe handling, operation, and storage of firearms
- Firearms types and responsible ownership
- Proper transport and security measures
- The role of firearms within the community
- Additional key information relevant to all shooters
Successfully completing this course is a crucial step in obtaining a firearm authority, as required by the Commissioner of Police. By enrolling, you will gain the confidence and competence needed to ensure the safe, lawful, and responsible use of firearms.

This course is delivered online. Once students have applied, they will receive a welcome email with their student ID and temporary password. Course content will then be accessible via Black Board Learn.
A fee of $100 will be payable to complete the test.
