Study Mode On campus

Duration 2 Days

This Skill Set course delivers a single unit, CUAPHI316 Capture images using drone technology. The unit describes the skills and knowledge required to capture images using drone technology in compliance with the relevant regulatory requirements of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) and national operating standards.

The program was developed in response to identified skills needs in digital media, photography, and aerial imaging, including industry demand for competent UAV operators capable of producing professional visual content. Consultation with local businesses, creative agencies, and industry associations highlighted a skills gap in practical photography and media production.

Learners can expect to gain a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for the unit completed in this Skill Set, as well as pathways to further study or employment in photography, media production, marketing, or other creative industries. They will also develop practical skills in planning, producing, and reviewing visual content, including technical competence, knowledge of industry regulations, UAV operations, and creative workflows.

This qualification does not have a mandatory work placement requirement.
