Study Mode On campus

Duration 4 Days

This Traffic Management Skill Set has been designed in consultation with several traffic management companies and industry stakeholders, including Main Roads Western Australia. These stakeholders identified the need for the course to be delivered over four days to allow sufficient time for skill development, practical application, and industry-aligned assessment outcomes.

The units are delivered in a scaffolded sequence, progressively building learners’ knowledge and practical capabilities, from foundational communication and WHS requirements through to more advanced traffic management implementation activities.

Initial course activities focus on workplace communication, hazard identification, and safe work practices, before progressing to stop-slow bat operations, portable traffic control device operation, and the implementation of traffic management plans.

Practical learning and assessment activities are integrated throughout the program, with competency assessments conducted in both simulated environments and controlled live road worksites. This approach ensures learners develop the confidence, technical capability, and compliance standards expected by industry and regulatory bodies.
