Located at Central Regional TAFE's Kalgoorlie campus, the salon gives students studying hairdressing, beauty therapy and related disciplines valuable real-world experience under the guidance of qualified lecturers and industry professionals. At Central Regional TAFE, practical experience is an important part of student success.
The Hair and Beauty Training Salon allows students to work with real clients, develop customer service skills and gain hands-on experience in a salon setting before entering the workforce. Students learn the professional standards, workplace communication and technical skills required to succeed in the beauty and hair industries.
Working in a live training environment helps students bridge the gap between study and employment while developing the confidence employers are looking for.

About the salon
The salon is a purpose-built training facility that simulates a real workplace environment and supports practical learning across hairdressing and beauty therapy.

The beauty clinic is open to the public during each semester, giving students opportunities to apply their learning, develop client service skills and gain practical industry experience in a supervised environment.
Hairdressing students and apprentices regularly require models to complete practical assessments, refine their techniques and build confidence. Community participation plays an important role in supporting student learning and helping students gain valuable hands-on experience.
The salon operates Tuesday to Friday from 9.30am to 2.30pm.
To comply with workplace health and safety requirements, children are not permitted inside the student beauty clinic.
To support the student learning experience, visitors are asked to switch mobile phones off during appointments.
